Neighborhood commitment through intercultural community cleaning

Neighborhood commitment through intercultural community cleaning

Since 2021, the Seraji Foundation (SF), in cooperation with other associations and volunteers, has been organizing a networking and orientation meeting every last Sunday of the month, combined with a community garbage collection campaign. The focus is on topics such as integration, participation, volunteer work, ecological awareness and the fight against environmental pollution and views exchange.

As a common concern, the participants emphasize raising awareness in their own neighborhood for ecological issues and, moreover, taking action themselves in the face of the global plastic problem that pollutes the world's oceans and beaches. The organizers admit that they are aware that a monthly campaign alone is not enough to solve global ecological problems, but the participants are keen to make a local statement and make a local contribution to environmental protection and to become active in their own neighborhood. Above all, the community engagement on site also has a long-term effect on the participants and the surrounding neighborhood.

From the very beginning, bonnorange has supported the civil society alliance in previously registered campaigns in the Bonn area with work gloves and orange campaign garbage bags, as well as the disposal of the collected garbage. Registrations for the campaign on Sunday, September 29th can be made at [email protected]. The meeting point is the House of Integration at Köslinstr. 28 in Bonn-Duisdorf.
